Most college dropouts cite money problems

NEW YORK (USANN4)– Poor grades aren’t the reason most students consider dropping out of school.   Rather it’s a lack of money.   According to a survey by the Associated Press and Viacom, most college students say money problems are the main reason they have considered leaving school.

Of the students surveyed, 84 percent said they rely on more than one source of cash to stay afloat.   Sixty percent said they receive help from their parents.   Some 57 percent indicated they rely on loans.   And, about two-third of students said they work part-time.
